Helpful tips to help you improve your script.
Hello! I’m Nina Tran. I’m a Copperplate script calligraphy enthusiast in Los Angeles, CA.
Welcome to my blog!
A Bit About Me
I’m a wife, and a full-time mommy to three energetic children. When I’m not helping with homework, having tea parties, changing diapers, or tending to housework, I am found in my workspace whipping up Copperplate script material for this blog, quick tips and lessons for Instagram (@anintran_flourishes), or preparing for workshop. Most of my free time, as you can see, involves my passion for calligraphy and the fine arts.
I’ve always had googly eyes for calligraphy. There’s just something harmonious about the fine details of written script that add to its aesthetic appeal. Beautiful words written beautifully just amplify the messages it conveys. That’s one of the reasons I love it.
It’s only recently, however, that I have answered my calling for calligraphy. In December of 2014, I picked up my very first pointed pen from a local art store. My original intention was to help a friend with signage for her wedding — that’s it. Little did I know that what had started out as a favor would turn into a fiery passion. My deliberate and focused practice has ignited something within me, something that I couldn’t ignore. I began rummaging the Internet and local libraries for content to consume. The more I studied this script, the more I fell in love with it. And now here I am, blogging all about it!
My goals are to inspire you and to help you along your calligraphic journey by sharing my knowledge and experiences. I can relate to the stress of unanswered questions and concerns that you may have in mind like, “How do I get started?” or “Is my ink supposed to do that?!” The questions are endless — trust me, I’m still searching for the answers to some lingering questions that I have. I hope that you’ll find the answers that you seek here so that you may begin and practice calligraphy with guidance and confidence!
I hope to provide you with valuable information that you need to begin and/or help you along your Copperplate script journey.
